No really, the film looks beautiful, but come on now, Pixar! That dead horse was good and beaten by the time Titanic came out, no need to dredge up anachronistic narrative tropes.
This entire post hurts me.
Why won’t feminists just study media, learn about what conventions mean and just understand films.
Why won’t they just be happy. Why. Why can’t feminists be happy. One day I will meet a happy feminist and I will be happy, but so far I know none (actually, I know two, but they are far too sensible to be called feminists: they believe in equality and gender having a bearing on conception but not treatment. Far too sensible to be called feminists, though they call themselves feminists, which they can do because they are equal and can do whatever they fucking well please. They could call themselves Nazi doghating Jewfags for all I care, they’re too lovely and sensible to be argued with)…. what was I saying.
Oh yes. Go and learn what it means to be equal, and how having a stereotypical convention of showing oppression is just a convention of showing oppression and not a full on onslaught against equality.
Actually, no. I rephrase.
Remember its a fucking movie.

Pixar, I love you. You’re brilliant. Please don’t do this anymore. Be brilliant, not backwards.
Trufax.
